Olympia could not have asked for a better day to welcome its iconic spring event back to its full form. Some who attended spring Arts Walk Friday night even said it was the best ever. Sunny skies and 70s temperatures welcomed people who visited nearly 100 shops-turned-galleries, mingled with friends, took in performances and let their freak flags fly as the largest Luminary Procession ever filled the streets. Samba Olywa dancers, dazzling in light strings, led the way as the group’s percussion section provided the rhythm for the whole crowd. Illuminated lanterns ranged from moons and stars one person could carry to a narwhal and a snake that required a coordinated group.
